PDHC will be celebrating National Preservation Week, April 26 – May 2, 2015, by providing preservation tips throughout the week on Facebook and with a public scanning event:
Capture the Memories
Date & Time: Saturday, May 2, 2015, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Location: The Studio on 4, Central Branch, Pasadena Public Library, 285 East Walnut Street, Pasadena, CA 91101. Free parking is available in the parking lot behind the library; metered parking is available on the street.
Do you have family photos that show Pasadena’s past? Would you like your family to be part of a larger history of Pasadena and share them with researchers and people specifically interested in our community? PDHC is looking for family photos of Pasadena to add to our digital collection of online historical images. Bring in your photos, and students from PCC’s Digitization Skills Certificate Program will scan them on the spot and add them to the database. Participants will receive a USB drive with copies of their images.
Reservations: None required. However, it is recommended that prior to the event, patrons fill out an individual scan record for each photograph they plan to have scanned.
